We have a nominal ten or so practices on our roster. Just one of them, an Ob/Gyn practice in a poor neighborhood, gives us all of its business, mostly Medicare and Medicaid, totaling ninety or so claims per week. If all of them generated that much business we could buy a bigger yacht (though we would have no time to enjoy it).
A couple of our practices are run on the side by providers whose main activity is hospital-related and generates no business for us. We are happy with them. They were our very first clients and helped us learn the business without doing too much damage. They give us all their non-hospital business, both private insurance and government.
The gripe is those practices that take the easy ones for themselves, i.e., all the private insurers to which they file paper claims, and leave us with only the complex government-funded claims. I guess that won't change until all insurers, private and government, insist on electronic filing.
