Changing Patient Insurance Carrier

Post by stick » Fri Jan 27, 2023 12:57 pm

new to Medisoft and the office I'm working in still has Version 19 with no updates.
When a patient changes insurance carriers & we change that in the patient's information it
changes all previously paid transactions from the previous insurance carrier to the new one
and therefore we can no longer see what carrier paid those earlier transactions. How can this be prevented?
Example: 2021 patient had blue cross insurance... 2022 patient changed to Humana
once that change was made in patient's insurance information... all 2021 from blue cross changed to Humana
HELP!!

Hello, in Medisoft, patient's don't have insurance, but rather the patient's case does. If the insurance changes, then you should not change the insurance on the case, but rather setup a new case by copying the previous case and change the insurance on the new case. This way, you can easily rebill old claims on the prior case if needed.

If you haven't updated your Medisoft v19 to at least service pack 1 with the hot fix, then your reports probably take hours to run by now. Also, we only support Medisoft v19 on Windows 8 since we never supported it for Windows 10.
